Even though this is
a very simple design (and simple is hard for me, I
like to busy everything up) I wanted something very
clean.

However, to get an embossing
die that big that would not crack under 4000 pounds
of stamping pressure was a serious challenge, this
poster actually was begun in january and took 3 months
to make.
It might not look like much, but no company I called
all over the U.S. had ever made a plate that big (and
this is a small poster for me, only 14" x 20"
)
So, we had to print about 1000 posters in order to
get about 300 good ones, with the color registration
etc.
I still have to go through the stack and pull out
the bad ones. We had to hand feed these into a giant
stamping machine, just that part took 3 days, 8 hours
a day, to correct any shifting of pressure or alignment.

Such a simple
poster, such a complicated process. Also, there are
a few test prints, just stamped on white or different
samples of paper with no colored ink, these look cool
too.
