The author Vladimir Nabokov, was a lepidopterist (studied butterflies and metamorphosis) and also a literary critic. He insisted that in Kafka's Metamorphosis,.. Gregor was not a cockroach, but a beetle with wings under his shell, and capable of flight. My art is based on the cycle of death (skull) and life (brief, beautiful butterfly) drawn in a semi-traditional americana psychedelic style...moe. the band formed in Buffalo NY hence i used a buffalo skull... a MetaMOEphosis... -emek
