The Doomsday Clock is a symbolic clock face, representing a countdown, maintained since the dawn of the atomic age. The closer the Clock is to midnight, scientists believe the closer the world is to global disaster. The most recent officially announced setting is 5 minutes to midnight (11:55pm).

On the clock hand, if you look closely, there is a Lightning Bolt at the tip, in reference to the title of Pearl Jam's new album, called "Lightning Bolt" On the back of the poster are written a bunch of PJ lyrics arranged to look like a crazy Unibomber manifesto. There is also a reference to a quote by Henry David Thoreau, and that's why the proverbial third eye of the poster is bolted shut.
